The evolution of God/Adrian Villar Rojas

“The seed must grow regardless of the fact that it was planted in stone…Did you hear? Did you hear about the Rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?” Tupac Amaru Shakur, RIP.

Urban dwellers, often unable to acquire access to “real gardens” for lack of social and/or economic capital are often quite aware of these sorts of “miracles”. Seeds will germinate in the oddest places, plants will grow in rubbish and on abandoned lots, in a crack in the sidewalk.

It’s a typical New York City story. Read more about the Argentinian artist Rojas on the Highline in New York here who takes this observation seriously, interpreting it in his own ways.

And then take a stroll uptown to Harlem, where this is going on, despite the crack (is wack).
